A simple solution to IT security sprawl?

According to recent research conducted by Forrester Consulting, the vast majority of enterprise security professionals believe that security should be delivered as an integrated platform via the cloud.

Indeed, 98 percent of those questioned said that integrated security platforms would be effective to both improve their security posture and to reduce overall cost in comparison to traditional on-premise security appliances and point solutions.

As our channel partners have experienced firsthand from their small and medium business clients, the ultimate problem addressed in the research is one that has been gaining increased airtime over the past year – security sprawl. With more data sharing, more device connections, and more security solutions to manage everything than ever before, companies are struggling to keep themselves secure.

Though targeted at an enterprise level, I believe you’ll agree that these research findings are just as applicable to smaller businesses – with the fragmented security landscape posing a management headache no matter your company size.

Our AVG Business product line includes a managed services and security platform that offers a range of features. We have designed the products with absolute simplicity in mind to help relieve security sprawl headaches. AVG CloudCare is one example, enabling direct, real-time management of a full suite of cloud-delivered security services – antivirus, online backup, content filtering, email security, premium remote control, secure sign-on and more, all from one dashboard. Instead of having to deal with the complexity of multiple, different security solutions, we provide a ‘single pane of glass’ view for easier IT management.

AVG CloudCare supports our partners, so that MSPs can give their customers the reassurance that their applications and data are protected on any device, anytime, anywhere.

As John Quatto, Channel Partner Manager at Zobrio Inc. recently put it, “the only problem you might face now is that your clients will never witness and appreciate the work you’re doing – As an MSP you have to be able to prove your worth – ironically, that’s difficult if you’re fixing issues before the customer even knows they exist!”

If AVG CloudCare sounds like it could be an asset for your business, visit our AVG Business website today to find out more.

AVG Business responds to evolving channel needs with enhanced Managed Workplace platform

Since we launched our flagship AVG Business Managed Workplace 9.1 in April 2015, the ongoing dialogue and feedback from our channel partners has been crucial. Managed Workplace 9.2 – the latest version of the platform, available today, addresses the needs our partners have raised. We are confident that the additional capabilities we have included in the expanded platform align to MSPs’ business objectives more closely than ever before.

An important feature in Managed Workplace 9.2 is the Premium Remote Control capability, through our partnership with enterprise remote desktop software provider, ISL Online, that has enabled us to integrate a premium Remote Control capability into our platform for the first time. By building in the remote control at no further cost to our partners, we are able to reduce not only the need for MSPs to work across disparate systems, but also the need to purchase additional, expensive, third-party tools. Offering greater control and visibility to resolve issues and deliver support more quickly, the Premium Remote Control enables MSPs to quickly and easily access remote computers, transfer files, chat, record sessions and perform administrative tasks for their clients, without switching interfaces.

Those of you who attended our Cloud Summit last October will remember discussing remote controls in detail – it’s a great example of you telling us what you wanted, and us listening and responding.

We want to help small enterprises and our MSP partners feel that they are doing everything they can to protect their data. At the same time, we recognize that monitoring so many different systems requires a streamlined workflow. Managed Workplace 9.2 now includes integrated Backup and Disaster Recovery, so that MSPs can easily control workstation backups, capture Bare-Metal-Recovery images for servers, as well as monitor and manage devices from one central dashboard.

Further details on the key features of the Managed Workplace 9.2 platform, including AVG Device Manager for Mac OS X and integrated AntiVirus enhancements can be found here.

With Managed Workplace 9.2, we move one step closer to a complete, managed IT solution – one which provides ease of use, security and control of the entire IT infrastructure (devices, applications and networks) from a “single-pane” of glass. We understand that our channel partners’ technology needs are always evolving and we are committed to doing all we can to streamline the experience while delivering the best services possible.

We are listening. Thank you for your ongoing feedback and please keep sending it our way.

AVG Business strengthens team for big push in 2015

However, as always in business, you can never afford to rest on your laurels and we will continue to invest in and expand our bleeding-edge cloud security and managed services platforms.  To assist us with this task it gives me great pleasure to welcome on board Francois Daumard as our new vice-president of Global Channel Sales.

Most recently with the mobility management company FiberLink, Francois has a strong background in Channel Sales and has previously worked for such organizations as Apple and Microsoft.  Francois’ experience encompasses Global Sales & Marketing, Operations and establishing international strategic Channel Partner Programs.  He is well-recognized as an active participant in the Channel Community and currently sits on the Vendor Council of CompTIA.

Francois will be responsible for the channel sales teams across the globe.  He brings a tremendous amount of experience to the team and will be working closely with our VP of Marketing & Product Marketing Joanna Brace and her marketing team as we work to add a little sparkle to our channels in 2015.

As we pivot AVG business towards a cloud model, expansion of our global footprint has gathered pace. In 2014 Brazil, Australia, Germany and, following the recent acquisition of Norman Safeground, Scandinavia, DACH and Benelux have all come on stream.

Of course the size of the challenge ahead of us should not be underestimated.  We are not going to convince businesses overnight how radically we have changed as an organisation.  We must show them that today we are the online security company for devices, data and people with a modern consumer and business product portfolio to suit both markets.

Hopefully our continued roll out of market-leading cloud security and remote management solutions coupled with an unwavering commitment to helping our 10,000 global partners and their customers manage large numbers of business mobile devices will help to overturn some of those entrenched perceptions.

In summary, as we build up to the strategically important Mobile World Congress 2015 we can count on a solid framework, closely aligned to the ever changing needs of the Channel, that is capable of carrying us towards our next goal. That goal is to become the market leading applications vendor for streamlined delivery of cloud security and managed services to small and medium sized businesses.
